Yellow fish images remind people when drains connect to the river

Our excellent Ambassador, Peter Coombs was out and about in Yate recently, painting Yellow Fish beside gully pots that are connected to the River Frome with volunteers from the Bristol Avon Rivers Trust.

The Yellow Fish images are there to remind people that the drain is connected directly to the river, so they mustn’t pour any pollutants down there. The Rivers Trust support this activity by working with Schools to tell the children what the Yellow Fish mean, and then the children ‘spread the word’. Do you know where the drains by your home go?
